from AASAA the Albanian association

An interview with the Chief of the Board and International Relations Officer of AASAA, the recently founded association of Albanian agencies new member of FELCA…

“My name is Erion Kosovrasti. I was born in Tirana 41 years ago. I am the co-founder and CEO of the agency Tandek Albania Study Abroad. And now also Chief of the Board and International Relations Officer of AASAA, the Albanian association of study abroad agencies. AASAA was founded a few months ago. Our president is Entela Cela Maybrook, executive director of EBLA – Educational Business Link of Albania. The third member of the association is the agency Study Abroad Albania. Three agencies in Tirana to start the association’s activities, but with the aim of growing in number to better represent our country’s agencies on the international scene.”

Entela Cela Maybrook, President of the Albanian Association AASAA

This is how our interview with Erion begins. He was in London during the last Alphe UK to attend the FELCA AGM, during which the AASAA was, with a unanimous vote, admitted as a new member of the Federation.

“We founded the association in April 2025, thanks also to the help of FELCA. We share FELCA’s respect for rules of conduct and ethical codes. The aim of the association is to bring together all agencies working in the sector to offer the best choices to all Albanians who want to study abroad. Joining FELCA will certainly help us to grow and follow in the footsteps of larger and more experienced associations.

In Albania, in addition to language courses abroad, secondary and university courses are also in high demand.

‘The most popular destinations are the USA and Canada, followed by the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain and Austria,’ explains Erion Kosovrasti. “Albanians need a visa to study abroad, and agencies help students with the process of obtaining this document. Sometimes there are difficulties, especially for studying in the United States and Canada. Albania is on the waiting list to join the European Union, a long process, which we hope will end soon and will certainly make international mobility easier for our students.”

There are certain requirements to become a member of the AASAA.

‘You must comply with Albanian national regulations, the association’s code of conduct, that of FELCA and have at least two years’ experience in the sector.

Welcome to FELCA, AASAA!
