Felca Asia: General Meeting

March 1st at the Shangri-La Hotel in Taipei.

The Felca Asia General Meeting in Taipei brought together key representatives from across the region, including JAOS Japan, TIECA Thailand and the host, IECA Taiwan. Special guest from Malaysia, Ms. Datuk Wai Cheng Lau, president of NAPEI (National Association of Private Education Institutions).

Event Highlights

Tatsu Hoshino, Vice President of Felca and organizer of this summit, opened the meeting. This was followed by a warm welcome from Danny Chang, President of IECA, and a video message from Paolo Barilari, President of Felca.

The agenda included several significant milestones: the Award Ceremony to honour four pioneers who laid the foundation for Felca Asia: Masuru Yamada (Jaos), Albert Lee (IECA), Udom Ditsamroeng (TIECA) and Scott Wade (ST Magazine and Alphe) and a session during which JAOS, IECA, and TIECA shared successful strategies from their respective associations.

Ā Two discussions themes: The value of Education Agencies in the age of AI & social media and how associations can Expand the Study Abroad Market.

Reflecting on the Future

Through this summit, it became clear how vital it is for the national representative bodies to learn from one another’s histories and activities. By cooperating and exchanging information, tha National Associations can elevate the quality and effectively promote study abroad opportunities in the respective countries. Looking ahead, FELCA Asia aim to launch various collaborative projects between our organizations.

The next Felca Asia General Meeting is scheduled to be held in Bangkok in 2027, hosted by TIECA (Thailand).
