The Brazilian association warns on direct selling in market

The Board of Directors of BELTA created the BELTA Best Practices Work Group that would like to manage the situation about direct sales in Brazil with the support of the Ethic Committee…

According to the words of Alexandre Argenta, President of BELTA, “…direct selling from schools is a very important topic which has been bothering some agent-school relationships over the years, but as we have noticed an increasing number of complaints from our agent members on the direct sales matter, our Board of Directors, in conjunction to our Ethics Committee have put together a Working Group to specifically discuss this issue a few months ago.

The material we are sharing with associations and business partners is the result of a 3-month-work with our members and legal consultants trying to approach our providers to evolve best sales practices in Brazil considering our local consumer law, digital marketing, promotion and sales practices. We intend to open conversations to avoid agency bypass, of course with mature and polite discussion trying to evolve our results together in a moment we see the overall market finding its final adjustment after the pandemics.

During Alphe London 2025 we were able to have a very productive and long discussion about direct sales with several Felca and Gaela members, best moment of the day in my opinion, where we could see different opinions from agents and schools about this matter. We believe that this movement should be followed in several countries keeping the importance of the agent flag raised for the best will of our industry.”
