Emilio Bordona new President of ASEPROCE

27 February, ASEPROCE 50° AGM new President and new Board

On 27 February, ASEPROCE held its XL General Assembly in Vigo, a particularly significant meeting for the association, marking a leadership transition and the beginning of a new stage for the organisation. During the Assembly, the mandate of the outgoing Committee came to an end. The Committee carried out remarkable work in consolidating and strengthening ASEPROCE as an association, enhancing its institutional positioning and reinforcing the sector’s commitment to quality and excellence in educational programmes abroad.

In this context, Emilio Bordona Soriano was elected as the new President of ASEPROCE for the next four years, succeeding Pablo Martínez de Velasco, who has led the association for the past three years. “I am very grateful and honoured to have been chosen as President of ASEPROCE for the next four years, and also thankful for the new Executive Committee that is now beginning its journey,” Bordona said following his appointment.

The new Executive Committee includes Norman Bonnail as Vice-President, Belén Díez as Secretary and Borja Ortega as Treasurer. The Committee is completed by members Montse Guardiola, Carmen Navarro, Sabina de los Reyes, Enrique León and Chema Higes, and will also benefit from the collaboration of former President Juan Manuel Elizalde, who will serve as advisor to the Committee.

The Assembly also provided an opportunity to welcome new members to the association and to reinforce the shared commitment to continue promoting the development and professionalisation of the sector. The meeting was also attended by Abel Caballero, Mayor of Vigo, and Olga Alonso, Councillor for Linguistic Normalisation, Education, Human Resources and Training, who highlighted the important role played by ASEPROCE member agencies in ensuring the quality of students’ international academic experiences.
